| This wrecked 1974 GMC van was the basis for a successful motorhome built in my garage. It was nearly new when it was rolled completely over. The sign on the side of the vehicle provides a bit of irony. |
| The work has started. Everything not necessary was cut away. At this point, the firewall area has been widened to 96". The frame was next lengthened 60" and a third axle was added using a shop-built suspension. |
| The steel frame was built in two sections so it would go through the 10' wide by 7' high garage door. Since the project was done in the winter, the insulation was all in place and the top was completely finished inside, then the top was installed outdoors. |
| See folks, nuttin' to it! Now for some skin, windows, and door and the rest can be done in relative comfort. |
| The finished motorhome provided 19 years of traveling and camping for us. It is completely self-contained and lacks only air conditioning. We travelled from coast to coast and from Canada to Mexico with it. |
